Breaking Barriers in Optometry

The Doctor of Optometry Student Conference (ODSC) is an annual event led BY students FOR students.

It is one of the only events of the year that bring together optometry students from OD1 to OD4, staff and guest speakers.

It aims to create a distinctive learning experience that encompasses both academic and personal development opportunities. Plenty of fun competitions and social events are planned to help strike the perfect balance of entertainment and academics.

The overarching theme of ODSC 2024 is 'Breaking Barriers.' This means going beyond the norm by breaking the mold, challenging stereotypes in Optometry and venturing into uncharted waters. All of this to empower you to become better optometrists and provide the best patient care to ALL patients.

When is ODSC 2024?

ODSC 2024 will take place from 9am to 5pm on Monday the 23rd and Tuesday the 24th of September, during the University's scheduled mid-semester break for semester 2. An additional two days of break will be provided to students in the following week!

Where is ODSC 2024?

ODSC 2024 will take place at The University of Melbourne Law Building (Building 106). The building is a 3 minute walk from both Haymarket and Lincoln Square tram stops. Attached are maps and routes for some guidance.

Do also keep an eye out for our committee members and signs to help guide the way!
